How does the garage door cost estimator work?

Pick everything your door needs, and the estimator adds up a combined national price range. Each line shows its own range and the source behind it. Tap a line to open the guide that explains that job in detail.

The ranges come from the same national cost data our guides cite: HomeAdvisor, Angi, HomeGuide, Fixr and FLASH. They are national figures, not Florida quotes and not our price list.

Why can a Florida price land above the national range?

Wind rules are the main reason. Many Florida doors are wind rated, and rated doors carry steel struts that make them heavier. Heavier doors need stronger springs, which cost more. Our garage door repair cost guide explains how that plays out across common repairs.

Parts on a rated door also have to match what the door was tested with. A DASMA sheet on component substitution warns that parts that are not identical can weaken the door and void its certification. Matching parts can cost more than generic ones.

New doors add a permit. A new door needs a building permit and an inspection. We’ll tell you exactly what your city requires before work starts. For the full picture, see our garage door replacement cost and hurricane garage door cost guides.

Why does one problem often lead to another?

Garage door parts work as a system. A broken spring puts extra load on the cables. Worn rollers make the opener strain. A dented panel can bind in the track. That is why the estimator lets you pick more than one item, and why we check the whole door on every visit.

If you are not sure what is wrong, our garage door parts diagram names every part and the signs that it is wearing out.

How does Majestic price a job?

We look at the door first, explain what we find and agree on the price with you before any work starts. There are no surprise fees added at the end. We balance and safety test every door before we leave.

You can call us 24/7, or text a photo of the door and we will tell you what it looks like from there. Use the buttons in the estimator above, or call (813) 774-1127.

Is the estimate a quote?

No. It is a national range to help you plan and to check whether a quote looks reasonable. The real price depends on your door’s size, weight, rating and condition, and on what else turns up during the visit.
